D4GX 2021 India Empowerment Challenge Winners


We are pleased to announce 3 grant winners for the D4GX 2021 India Empowerment Challenge.

​Each winner received innovation design grants worth INR 10 lacs. Further, all shortlisted innovations received amplification support from Bloomberg, Dasra, Societal Platform, and Stanford PACS Digital Civil Society Lab’s networks, and 1:1 mentorship support from the Bloomberg Engineering and Global Data teams in India. ​The cohort of innovation grant winners had the opportunity to engage with practitioner fellows at the Digital Civil Society Lab - Stanford PACS through 2-3 collaborative learning sessions over a one year period​. The winners also had an opportunity to fundraise further through 1:1 dialogues with a curated group of philanthropists.

Srijan Foundation | Education to Women Farmers' for Empowerment through Livelihood Promotion 

Enabling financial literacy among women farmers empowering them to negotiate and make better pricing decisions without middlemen. 
The D4GX 2021 India Empowerment Challenge received a total of 133 applications from organizations working across 22 Indian states in the areas of Learning to Livelihoods, Urban & Community Resilience, and Equitable Health.

​More than half of the finalists work in either rural and/or semi-urban areas and all 21 finalists operate in underserved geographies.

D4GX 2021 | Shortlisted Cohort


The D4GX 2021 Shortlisted Cohort consisted of 10 organizations which were a part of the Empowerment Challenge mentorship program. The shortlisted innovators are receiving  1:1 mentorship support from the Bloomberg Engineering and Global Data teams in India and amplification support across Bloomberg, Dasra, Societal Platform, and Stanford PACS Digital Civil Society Lab’s networks.

Digital location address given to every location which will allow community residents to leverage services such as postal, emergency and other online services to their doorstep.

Uninhibited | HELLO SAATHI

Menstrual and SRH tele-medicine helpline bridging access to information and healthcare to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 lockdown on last mile marginalized menstruators, sex workers, and transgender individuals.
The D4GX 2021 India Empowerment Challenge received an equal number of applications in the Idea and Matured stages, which were scaled with Proof of Impact after 3-4 years of work, and the largest pool of applications were in the pilot stage.
