D4GX 2023 India Empowerment Challenge Winners
We are pleased to announce 9 winners for the D4GX 2023 India Empowerment Challenge.
The 3 grant winners i.e. EMPBindi International, Waatavaran, and Hume Centre for Ecology and Wildlife Biology received innovation design grants worth INR 10 lakhs each.
The 6 finalists, i.e. ELICIT Foundation, Sol's Assessment and Remedial Centre, Civic Innovation Foundation, Protsahan India Foundation, Spandan, and Veditum India Foundation form the shortlisted cohort.
All the 9 finalists will receive amplification support from Bloomberg, Dasra, Societal Thinking, and Stanford PACS Digital Civil Society Lab's networks, and mentorship support from the Bloomberg Engineering and Global Data teams in India.

Civis: The innovation is bridging government, citizens, and civil organizations to create inclusive policies through consultations and technology, simplifying legal language and collecting public feedback. ProChild Passport: This aids adolescent migrant girls in Indian urban slums, and offers access to essential government services and comprehensive support for education and well-being, fostering their thriving. |
Timely Community Response to Save Lives and Livelihoods: In Wayanad district engages farmers, students, and the public to collect and share district-level climate data, facilitating early warnings, crop planning, and disaster prevention in a climate-vulnerable region. AI Weather Advisory for Fisherwomen and Dry Fish production: Weather information-based advisory and use of AI model to reduce climate vulnerability of fisher folk women in dry fish making and promotion of livelihood resilience. India Sand Watch: It is an environmental accountability platform that compiles and disseminates comprehensive information on river sand mining in India, facilitating digitization of official records and promoting transparency and collaboration among various stakeholders to address the issues surrounding this sector. |
