Applications Closed For The D4GX 2023 India Empowerment Challenge

Dasra, in partnership with Bloomberg, Societal Thinking, and Stanford PACS have hosted a series of events under the Data for Good Exchange (D4GX) 2022 India with the aim of enabling data agencies for India’s most vulnerable communities.

In 2021, the initiative also published a landscape report that advocates ‘enabling data empowerment for India’s most vulnerable through awareness, access, and agency over data. The report also highlighted barriers to data empowerment, and a ‘virtuous cycle of data’ required to help address each breakpoint.

"The resolution of data is crucial. We have found in our work that we can have data - good and bad, or low res data and high res data. We should look into qualitative data as well, and go deeper into the details." - Natasha Joshi, Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies #D4GX pic.twitter.com/oAyoX4DKQ6

Thanks @Dasra for the opportunity to participate in a conversation on Technology as an Enabler to Data Empowerment as part of the #D4GX Conference. Takeaways= need to align tech to mission and impact, invest in data capacity, and value that local NGOs know their communities best.

Vandana Ramchandani, @Bloomberg "Data is at the core of all our work, as is giving back to the communities in which we work. We truly believe that data science can be the key to solving some of society's greatest issues." #D4GX pic.twitter.com/dhizSfzLpe
